Vacuum pump
Device part of the A/C refilling machines to create and maintain the vacuum.
Compressor
Device present both in the A/C system of the car and in the A/C charging machines, even if with different characteristics and purposes.
Service hoses
Hoses to connect the A/C control unit to the car, generally red for high pressure and blue for low. They must comply with specific international regulations.

Electronic device for the measurement of the weight (refrigerant, oils) present in the A/C recharging machines.
Condenser
Heat exchanger present both in the A/C systems of the cars and in the A/C recharging machines. It effects the condensation of gas in the vaporous state by subtracting heat.
Capacitor/condenser (electrical engineering)
Electrical component that has the ability to store energy (e.g. mounted on compressors in A/C recharge machines to provide the starting current).
Schrader valve
Needle valve used in quick couplings placed on the A/C system of a car.
Needle extractor
Special screwdriver to extract the needle from Schrader valves.
Manual / automatic taps
In an A/C recharging machine, terms used to indicate the valves that connect the hoses and service pipes to the climate machine and which can be manual or automatic (solenoid).
Separator/Distiller
Inside a recharging machine, a component that serves to separate the refrigerant from the oil it contains.
Solenoid
Coil of conducting wire that generates a magnetic field when crossed by current. Part of a solenoid valve that is used to lift the shutter.
Shutter
Mobile component of a valve that opens / closes the refrigerant passage
Solenoid valve
Valve that uses electromagnetic force to open/close automatic valves.
Check valve (or non-return valve)
Valve that allows the passage of fluids in one direction only.
Evaporator
Heat exchanger present in the A/C systems of the cars. It effects the evaporation of the refrigerant from the liquid state into gaseous for the purpose of cooling the air.
Dehydrating Filter
Component present both in A/C systems and in A/C service machines. It protects the system from humidity, acids and solid contaminants.
Expansion valve
In an A/C system, the thermostatic expansion valve effects the reduction of the pressure and temperature of the liquid refrigerant before entering the evaporator.
It further controls the flow of refrigerant that is introduced into the evaporator keeping the vapor overheating constant.
